MolecularBytes AtomicTransient 1.1
atomictransient is a cutting-edge, polyphonic multi-channel transient processor plugin designed for detailed envelope shaping.
Its unique detection algorithms enable precise transient isolation even within complex, polyphonic audio sources or mixes.
The polyphonic spectral separation allows per-note envelope control without affecting overlapping or previously played tones.
Ideal for drums, instrument recordings, loops, or full mixes—atomictransient transforms audio with unmatched accuracy.
Adjust attack, sustain, or decay independently for each detected transient across up to three frequency-filtered channels.
Each channel has its own envelope, spectral filtering, and dedicated effect processor for maximum creative flexibility.
Use atomictransient to enhance dynamics, sculpt tonal envelopes, or remove individual hits from dense patterns.
It’s not just for drums—simulate piano pedals, refine guitar plucks, or reshape synth articulations with precision.
Polyphonic mode ensures transient processing does not color preexisting tonal content within the same signal.
Visual tools include a spectral trigger view, waterfall display, and real-time envelope effect visualization.
Included are 160+ presets for drum loops, instrument lines, or mix stems, each fully tweakable via envelope and filter presets.
Built-in “Probe” functions allow exact listening to filter inputs or effect outputs to fine-tune transient targeting.
Integrated effects: envelope shaping (dynamic/static) and LFO-based filter modulation with resonant control.
Supports MIDI learn, A/B compare, dry/wet mix, dynamic gain compensation, scalable UI, and XML-based preset sharing.
Available as plugin (VST/AU/AAX) and standalone Windows application for real-time signal processing.
atomictransient redefines how transients are detected and shaped in polyphonic, layered, or multitimbral audio environments.
Flexibility
AtomicTransient handles up to three channels where each channel processes all parameters separately. Use the channels e.g. for guitar, bass-drum and snare-drum and adjust the detection to listen only to desired instruments or use Auto-Threshold to automatically detect the basic transients.
The included effects enable universal, time-based change of the envelope or adjustments by LFO filter - in combination with polyphonic mode also for specific drums or note-based for polyphonic recording sequences like piano or guitar.
Polyphony
Polyphonic processing accesses the relevant parts of the sound - all other, already audible sounds remain unaffected.
This allows, for example, to respond only to the bass-instrument, the snare-drum or the hi-hat to remove or separate them and add sustain or modify the attack.
The overlapping sounds of a polyphonic instrument such as piano pedals, guitar strokes, or synthesizer samples can also be adjusted like separate "notes" in the envelope. You can also change the loops of your sample library universally.
Multichannel / Mixer
AtomicTransient provides up to three parallel processing channels. Each channel can detect and process transients in its own frequency range and uses different effects on the audio signal.
The detection of transients per channel can be limited by a spectral filter to a specific frequency band, so that a transient is triggered only for chosen audio material.
The effect outputs can be mixed to defined frequency ranges - parameters control the amount of effect and original signal.
Effects
AtomicTransient processes audio signals with built-in effects. When a transient is detected, the tool processes the associated spectral components with an effect that starts at the moment of the triggering event. There are currently two effects available - 'Envelope Response' and 'LFO Filter'. The 'Envelope Response' effect controls the amplitude over time, allowing for precise adjustment of drum lines and changes to the entire envelope of instruments. The 'LFO Filter' effect dynamically modifies frequency ranges with timed LFOs and can give a concise character to the sound by adjusting the resonance.
